Josh and I went grocery shopping today. We haven't been buying much the last month so we went all out on stocking up today. This is about half of our groceries!

Emily made this dessert today for after supper. I wanted to get a good picture of it so I snapped a whole bunch of them thinking that I didn't like any of them. It turns out that the very first picture is the one I liked and decided to use. Anyway, this is a cake made with simply a box of chocolate cake mix and a can of pumpkin. That is it. You just mix the dry cake mix with the pumpkin and bake as you would a regular cake. We served it with cool whip and either chocolate or caramel syrup. It was just as yummy as it looks!

This is my little nephew Tucker. He rolled from his back to his tummy yesterday. It was one of the first times, if not the actual first time. We were all so excited and cheering him on! Isn't he just so adorable!

This is my new lamp. I have been searching and searching since we moved in to our house last year for lamps for my bedroom and for my living room. I knew in my mind what I wanted, but I just couldn't find it. I've looked in Fargo, Bismarck, Minot, and Williston. But nothing has been exactly what I wanted. When we were in Rapid City last week, I took the girls in to Penney's to look at jeans. Of course, one of the little girls had to use the bathroom. So I sent them in with the older girls and I told them I was going to look around in the household department. Would you believe there was the lamp I wanted? Not only was it the perfect lamp for my bedroom, but it was also 60% off and I had a 15% off coupon! Josh came to take a look at it and he approved and thought maybe we should see if they had anything we liked for our living room. They did and those lamps were on sale, too. So we ended up buying four lamps. I am so happy to finally have found the perfect lamps for our house and so glad I waited to find exactly what I wanted! I would have taken a picture of both lamps but my bed wasn't made and I wasn't about to make it right before bedtime!

Today I went to the Yellowstone River with Brandy to see the ice jam. Brandy tried to show me how to do some different settings on the camera. That was nice of her. Unfortunately I don't remember much of what she told me and when I looked at the pictures I took on my computer I couldn't tell the difference. I may just be hopeless and stuck with auto setting. Anyway, the ice jam was so cool!

Devils Tower, Wyoming. If you've never been there, I highly recommend it. It was amazing to say the least. It was worth the extra two hours of driving. It was really neat to see this sticking up out of the ground, pretty much all by itself. When you go see it, you are able to drive right up to it, underneath the part that sticks up. They had a walking path around it, too. I would have really enjoyed that but unfortunately it was still snow covered and we didn't have our boots on. Somehow I couldn't see Josh unloading the whole van just to get us our boots! This was by far my favorite "sight" on our sight-seeing adventures. I think the reason it was so cool to me was because it was not man-made. It is simply made by God. It is on my list of questions to ask God when I get to heaven!

We took so many pictures today that it was hard to pick just one. But I thought this one that Brooke took was really neat. Josh, Brooke, Emily, Grace, and Sophia went on a hike when we were at Mount Rushmore today. Brooke took this shot through a crack in some big rocks they were hiking around. I did a little bit of editing on Picnik.com and that really helped with the color and definition of the face. I originally just saw Washington's face in this photo but when I was editing I noticed Lincoln in the background. Great picture Brooke!

This is Grace, Emily, and Josh on the waterslide at Watiki Waterpark in Rapid City. This slide was awesome! You swoop down, end up in this tea cup thing, go around a few times and then down the hole and you swoop into the pool. Super fun!

This is Macy, the little worker! We had a potluck and meeting tonight at the Cartwright Community Center, formerly known as the "Hall". Afterward, Jeff and Macy were right there helping with the mopping. Poor Jeff was a little upset with his sister because he wanted a turn to mop and she just wouldn't give it up! Don't you love when kids are still young enough to fight over who GETS to do the work?

Meet Mr. Bear. I was just about to fall asleep when I realized I hadn't taken a single picture today. I tried to think of something and so here is what you get. A picture of my raggedy old Mr. Bear. He's been a good bear though. My sister gave him to me for Christmas when I was in the 8th grade. I have snuggled with him almost every night since then. Weird, huh? I think the only times he's been set aside was when I was out of town or sleeping with a new baby. I realize now looking at this picture that it is probably about time that Mr. Bear gets another bath in the washer! I'll get right on that!

I hope you didn't have travel plans in ND today. It was a heck of a blizzard. Not really much for snow, but it doesn't take much when you have winds like we had today. Almost all of the state is either roads closed or no travel advised. The kids in Alexander were kept late today until the snow quit. Josh stayed in Watford and had supper after work until the road was finally opened so he could make it home. Just in time to shower and go to bed. Hopefully he will get about 5 hours of sleep tonight, just to get back on the road and head back to work early in the morning. Brooke's speech meet for tomorrow has been canceled. I heard about numerous car accidents on the highways today. I was relieved to have Josh and Brooke home safe tonight, and all of our friends and family. I'm really really looking forward to Monday when it is supposed to be in the 40's again. It's amazing to think today was a blizzard with near 0 temps and just yesterday it was 40 and melting! Ah, good old North Dakota.
