This blog is simply a picture a day blog with the challenge to do it for a year. My friend Brandy and her mom, Robyn, started their POTD (Picture Of The Day) blogs at the beginning of the year. When I bought Brandy's old camera from her, I decided I would join them in this little adventure. My goal is to slowly learn how to use my new camera with settings other than automatic, and to learn how to edit pictures on the computer. If nothing else, it will be a reminder of our daily life this year, what we were up to, what the kids' were doing, and how much everyone has changed. I hope you enjoy the small glimpse into our lives.

I realize there are some weird things going on here in North Dakota with the oil boom, but this one really took me by surprise.  One day we were on our way to town and we saw this crane putting something together.  Emily said it looked like a man's chest and sure enough it was.  I think we were driving by just when they were putting the head on.  Lincoln in the middle of North Dakota?  I try not to think to hard on these strange things, it makes my head hurt.

I love this picture of Levi and Matthias so I decided to play with it a little bit.  I like how it turned out.

When I came out this morning Grace told me, "Mom, I can't do my Science, Levi ate it, I have proof."

The girls bought us these letter decorations for Christmas this year.  I had given Emily and Grace $10 to help the three little girls pick out something small for me for a present.  Well they found these and really really wanted to get them for both Josh and I, but didn't think they could because they only had $10.  Well a nice man overheard them and he handed them $7 out of his pocket and told them to get their mom and dad something nice for Christmas.  Isn't that so kind of him?  Amazing to think that there are still people out there that do such nice things for other.  The little girls were so very excited for us to open this extra special present this year!

When I was at my mom's house this fall going through things before they moved, we came across her dolls and doll carriage from when she was a little girl.  She was actually going to get rid of them!  As with many other items, I couldn't think of them being given away so I brought them home.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the carriage when I got it home.  Then one day it just came to me that I could put in an old doll blanket and place the dolls inside of it.  They look really cute in there and I have them in my bedroom.  Hopefully I will eventually have the old dresser from mom's place in my room too and the two will look so nice together.  But for now it is in Brooke's room and she refuses to give it up!

A friend showed me how to do some editing in Picasa.  I'm not very good at it, but it's fun to play with anyway.

It's a good thing someone took out the camera yesterday.  I think Sophia may have taken this?

I love this picture of Emily and Levi.  She rocked him to sleep this afternoon and he was all snuggled in.  How precious are those moments.

Emily did Brooke's hair for her today.  It is a half-braid type of thing that makes it like a braid headband.  It was super cute!

Lydia goes to bed at night in our room because she absolutely refuses to behave in the bedroom with her sisters.  When we go to bed, we just put her to bed in her room.  Well tonight when I walked in my room she was awake sitting up so I told her to go ahead and go to her bed.  Off she went...and then this is where I found her...conked out on the living room couch!
