This blog is simply a picture a day blog with the challenge to do it for a year. My friend Brandy and her mom, Robyn, started their POTD (Picture Of The Day) blogs at the beginning of the year. When I bought Brandy's old camera from her, I decided I would join them in this little adventure. My goal is to slowly learn how to use my new camera with settings other than automatic, and to learn how to edit pictures on the computer. If nothing else, it will be a reminder of our daily life this year, what we were up to, what the kids' were doing, and how much everyone has changed. I hope you enjoy the small glimpse into our lives.

The girls thought it was so funny that our neighbor boy who is 10 months old looks the same size as Lydia who is 2 1/2 years old.  They had to take pictures to prove it!

With a strong wind, the waves were actually spraying onto the highway today.  This is Hwy 85, south of Williston.  I hope we don't get anymore rain so they don't have to close this road.

I had to take a picture of Allison today since I crimped her hair.  I figured I better get a picture since it will probably never happen again...it took forever to do!

Emily and Grace are really great babysitters!  They love when I leave them at home to babysit.  They are full of fun ideas to do with their little sisters.  They have picnics in the living room, popcorn and a movie parties, and today they had fun making homemade face paint and painting their sisters' faces and their own faces.  What can I say, they learned from the best...their older sister Brooke.  In her younger years she loved to do fun activities when she was at home babysitting.  Not so much now, but that is okay because she already made her mark!

This is Brooke's first plane ride!  She is flying to D.C.  Josh and I parked at the end of the runway and I got some great shots of her plane taking off and this is it right over our heads!  What a crazy feeling it was to know she was on that plane!

Do you have a hopper ball for your kids?  Well if you don't you really need to get one!  These things are a great way for kids to get some exercise and have fun doing it.  I can remember when Brooke, Emily, and Grace were younger and they would actually do all of their chores while bouncing on their hopper balls.  It was a riot to watch!  Now Sophia and Allison like to play on their hopper balls.

While Brooke was at HOBY in Bismarck this weekend, the kids and I stayed at Annette's house for the weekend.  I had a great time catching up on life with Annette and the girls had an awesome time hanging out with Annette's kids.  Highlight of the weekend?  WATER FIGHT!!!!

06.03.2011

We're staying at Annette's house in Bismarck.  The girls had a blast being loud and obnoxious this evening.  This is them getting ready to slide down the steps on the sleeping bag.  I was dissapointed that none of my pictures of them going down turned out...I obviously have a lot to learn still about my camera.  I need to figure out how to take action shots.

Grace took this shot as we were driving over the Missouri River between Bismarck and Mandan.  It was crazy to see how high the river is and even crazier to think it is going to continue to rise.

We had a very long day today...a field trip to the Dinosaur Museum in Glendive, a picnic in the park, a quick trip through K-Mart, back to Sidney in time for a super speedy supper and then softball practice at 7:00.  We left the house at 9:30 in the morning and didn't get home until 9:30 at night.  I was ready to fall asleep just like Lydia!
